Payton- Did you know that a Republic elects representatives to speak for them?
Keira- what does that mean?
Chris- It means that a big group of people elect one person to say their needs or idea’s.
Anthony- I get it.
Payton- Then what’s a representative?
Keira- It’s a person that votes in place of other people. The citizens didn’t vote they elect a representative to vote for them.
Chris- Are there any civilizations that were a republic?
Anthony- Yeah Ancient Rome was a republic.
Chris: Did you know that the United States is also a republic?
Payton- They had three branches just like us.
Keira- The Senate, Consuls, and the Tribunes. In america we have the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial.
Anthony: here’s a recap of what you learned.

Chris- Rome was an example of a republic.
